Breslov Research’s R’ Dovid Sears sent us the following:

New Breslov Center Website

After many years of kind sponsorship and assistance from Nachal Novea Mekor Chochma, the umbrella organization of the Breslov community Tzefat, the Breslov Center (formerly The Breslov Center for Spiritual Growth) will no longer be using their server.

Instead, we are recreating our website in blog format, with several pages linked on the sidebar—including the new “Solitude/Hisbodedus” archive of essays and translations. It will take time to complete the transfer, but the new site is already up and running:
www.breslovcenter.blogspot.com

Many changes should take place during the next few weeks, as work on the site continues.
In the meantime, we are retaining our old URL of breslovcenter.org, but the old site will be dismantled eventually, and the material on the “Learn” and “Listen” pages will be recreated as separate links to the new site.

Thanks for your patience. Hope you like the new site and will find it useful.

URGENT – Please disseminate the below among the Breslov Chassidic community worldwide. I appeal in the name of Rebbe Nachman.

The Chassidic movement was founded in the 1700s by the Baal Shem Tov. It brought the idea of joy, compassion, singing, dancing, and spread the ability to daven and be connected to Hashem to the underprivileged Jewish masses who were unable to read from the shiddus. He taught them short phrases to sing as they carried water, made shoes, and tilled the soil. Through song and feelings from the heart and soul they could have a direct contact with Hashem. Chesed and joy were the main pillars. Be in the heart and soul and less in the head. That, according to Chassidus, were the main points to true Chassidus, loving each other, kindness, and compassion. Sadly with each generation the main message of the Baal Shem Tov was diluted, distorted, and indeed lost. There are the Chabad and the Chagat Chassidic communities. Neither really maintains the true integrity. Learning is one thing, doing the rules between people and Hashem is another, however, the most important piece as Rav Hillel said “it is all about relationships”. Relationships to other people and ourselves. Honesty, integrity, kindness, compassion, safety, respect, etc. Without these all the learning, davening, shukling is worth nothing.

The great tragedy occurring in our Chassidic communities that must be dealt with in each community is abuse within families. Verbal, emotional, physical, sexual, and incest. The shande and cherpa is to allow it to go on! Between 25 and 33 percent of every Chassidic community is or has been so abused. I appeal to you and your community to create a “safe house” for women and children. Also to have people available to assist directly or indirectly by referring them to organizations that feel safe and be safe for them to get heard, understood, and get the help needed.

This is VITAL for the survival of Yiddishkeit, orthodoxy, and Chassidic movement as first founded by the Baal Shem Tov.
