Where Are You?

Another name for Tishrei is Yerech Ha’eitanim, the “Month of the Mighty.” It’s our opportunity to access the vast spiritual reserves available only during the special holidays of this month. Now that we’re at the end of the month, we bring closure to this special time by remembering that the power of these holy days penetrate into the coming year in accordance with how we feel and what we want.

The Baal Shem Tov taught that wherever your thoughts are, that’s where you really are. Although the holidays have passed, they are never truly gone. In Breslov we say that the holidays don’t pass by, they go in. The more we focus on living the message of each holiday, the more we will feel their influence throughout the coming days and months.

Please help me to stay connected to the beautiful light of these holy days!

The deeper works reveal that the days from now all the way until Chanukah, are exceedingly elevated due to their proximity to the festivals of Tishrei. How close we stay depends only on how much we keep them in our minds.

Yehudis in her own words: When I first began learning Rebbe Nachman’s teachings with my husband and other teachers, I felt as though I had come home to the personal and vital relationship with G-d that I’d always sought. Today, a large part of my inspiration comes from helping other Jewish women discover their own spiritual potential through the meaningful teachings of Breslov Chassidut. Yehudis Golshevsky has been teaching Torah classes to women and working in Torah publishing for nearly twenty years. She’s a graduate of Yavne Teacher’s Seminary in Cleveland and holds a degree in Judaic Studies from SUNY at Buffalo. Currently, Yehudis is a contributor to Breslov.org and “Pathways”, the Breslov Research Institute’s weekly publication. Since 2006, she’s been taking women’s groups to Uman and other sites in Ukraine for prayer and study. Yehudis lives with her family in Jerusalem.
