The Breslov Research Institute Mourns The Passing of Elie Wiesel

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Prof. Elie Wiesel.

Elie was one of the most well-known people to introduce Rebbe Nachman to the English speaking world. He wrote much about Rebbe Nachman and his teachings, and also lectured on Rebbe Nachman at Boston University. I had the privilege of meeting Elie at his office in the Summer of 2012 and we shared a fascinating conversation about the Rebbe and about Elie’s trip to Uman and Rebbe Nachman’s grave.  Elie wished that he could join us for the Siyum Likutey Moharan in English that year but was unable to do so due to health issues. However he recorded the following videos for us.

May his wife Marion, her son Elisha and family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. May the merit of the many who were introduced to Rebbe Nachman through Elie be a tremendous blessing to him and his memory, amen.
