Moshe instituted the custom which calls on every Jew to study the lawas of Pesach prior to Pesach, the laws of Shavuot prior to Shavuot, and the laws of Sukkot prior to Sukkot (Megillah 32a).
This particularly applies to Pesach, as its laws are many and very complex. (Mishana Berurah 429:1).
