In Honor of Purim

So, we all know Rebbe Nachman said (Likutey Moharan II, Lesson #78), “Never give up! There’s no such thing as despair!” And Purim was—and is—living proof of that.

So, I was thinking: Let’s put together a list of quotes that “show once again” that there really is no reason to give up, that salvation and rescue can really happen at the last of the last moments. The quote can be from a book, a movie (whatever that is), a sporting event or a song (clean lyrics only!). (In Hebrew, salvation and rescue are yeshuah and hatzalah, respectively.)

You can even share such a quote from your own life or make one up.

I’ll start. (Hey! It’s my idea.) Mets and baseball fans will remember this: Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, bottom of the 10th. (Don’t ask me how I know!)

“Here comes Knight, and the Mets win it!”

Your turn.

Here is one of Hatzalah. I was driving with a friend back to her place years ago, when we spun out on the highway. We ended up facing E-W on a N-S highway, and was t-boned by a fullsize van. I was the driver, and the van hit me somewhere between the drivers side front and back doors. Next thing I know, we are facing the right way, my door is indented, and my window is in my lap. BH the most serious injury was a large bruise my passenger got on her leg from hitting the center consul and I received minor cuts and scrapes. Later that night I reflected that I probably should not be there, and it was a miracle I wasn’t dead or more seriously injured.
